A new year, finally!

I wanna start this post off first by wishing everyone a very Happy New Year!! So I'm up at 5 in the morning. I've actually been up for about 3 hours already. You'll come to realize that my sleeping patterns are very irregular and I take short naps in the evening and stay up to the wee hours of the morning.
I was able to get a copy of this awesome documentary called Food, Inc and it opened my eyes to the whole food industry and agricultural sustainability. I'm gonna take 5 vows that I'm gonna try to uphold for 2010:

-buy organic or sustainable food
-go without meat once a week
-read labels (I'm pretty good at this already)
-drink more water (I wanna get back to drinking a gallon minimum everyday).
-support companies that treat workers, animals, and environment with respect.

I feel that these are all things that people should try to incorporate in their everyday lives. I'm also going to shop at my local farmer market to for seasonal produce and eggs. If you wanna learn more on what you can do, please visit this site: Food Inc.

My New Year's was ok. I didn't do anything all New Years Eve until I met some friends at a bar later that night. I missed the countdown cause I was riding my bike there, but I danced for the rest of the night. 2 bottles of champagne made my rhythm a whole lot better. I obviously had too much too drink cause I left my bag there with my camera in there, but luckily the next day it was still there. Whew!!

Nothing exciting on New Years. I'm just really excited that my favorite singer, Christina Aguilera is releasing new music in March. This should be exciting cause she's working with so many different artists and producers that it's gonna be such an eclectic mix. Collaborators include Sia (of Zero 7 fame), Tricky Stewart, Focus, Santigold, M.I.A, Linda Perry, Diplo & Switch, Ladytron, Goldfrapp, and Le Tigre. I think she's gonna definitely own the musical game in 2010.

Other than that, I've just been posting on this low carb forum that is really nice. The people are very friendly and encouraging and it's an outlet for me to talk to others that are also trying to lose weight. It's inspiring to read success stories of people losing 100, 200, and even 300 lbs. Makes me realize that I don't have it so bad.

Well, that's it for now. I think I should force myself to try to get some sleep. I will post tomorrow after I run my errands, which includes grocery shopping. I hope this rough cough I have has decreased by then.

Take care.

  1. Happy New Year Cory. Thanks for stopping by my blog. I'm happy that you liked the low carb pumpkin cheesecake and really like your idea for the crust. Way to go!
